about

On their album ‘Oh Yeah Habibi’, NO Blues follow their tradition of building a bridge between East and West. Always unique with their ‘Arabicana’; a steamy mix of Arabic and American folk music. Despite their ten year anniversary the band sounds as fresh as a up coming band. U’d player Safia; “We wanted to return to the basis of guitar, u’d, double bass and percussion. Bassist Van Heuvelen: “This is our most coherent album as of yet”. Originally released in 2015.

This NO blues album is also a political statement. In contrast with the previous albums, the band chose to use the state of the world as topic for the songs. Singer / producer Keultjes: “It’s about dealing with a world that is on the run and the role of religion in this struggle”. Guitar player Van Meurs says: “We have never been a political band, but we don’t look away”.
