Het 32e album van singer-songwriter Dick van Altena is een feit. Na de commerciële successen van m.n. het Nederlandstalige album ‘Novemberwind’ en de jubileum CD ‘Singer & songs’ was er behoefte om terug te gaan naar de essentie: de man, zijn gitaar en zijn liedjes.
Verwacht dus geen elektrisch geweld, drums o.i.d. maar sfeervolle, subtiel ingevulde liedjes als de opener ‘Footsteps to my door’, ‘One more time’, compleet met ‘Ry Cooder accordeon’, het grappige ‘Come and see me’ en het Shel Silverstein achtige ‘Love for me’.
‘Lonely Hearts’ is een ingetogen plaat in de allerbeste singer-songwriter traditie en daarmee de feitelijke opvolger van ‘Lonely Hours’ uit 2001, wat deels de titel verklaart.
Van Altena wordt opnieuw bijgestaan door zijn vaste club topmusici, verder doen de 12 juweeltjes op het album het werk!
Biografie
Liedjesschrijver en zanger Dick van Altena (1957) was van 1977 tot eind 2005 het gezicht én geluid van (The) Major Dundee (Band).
Henk Wijngaard, Mooi Wark, Toni Willé (‘Pussycat’), De Sjonnies, Saskia & Serge en vele, vele anderen namen songs op van de schrijver van Altena.
