All my years on the road seeing the titans of Southern Rock the Allman Brothers(27 shows), have I come across a worthy act that doesnt come directly off the Allmans family tree. Opening track by Warren Haynes to Whipping Post by the Allmans this great top to bottom along with all the originals. This band has got it from the Susan Tedeschi style velvety vocals to the wonderful rhythm section to the soulful lead guitar. If you love the sound of that then this is one release to grab. Somewhere in between heavenly jam sessions Gregg, Duane, Berry & Butch are looking down saying these cats have Hit the Note !

Likely one of my favorite bands I've heard this year. There is so much talent in the band, it's almost criminal. Tedeschi/Trucks, Allman Bros., Bonnie Raitt-influenced rock & roll. Stellar vocals, maddeningly good guitar playing, ridiculous bass playing. This is the real deal, folks. Not only is this a great band, but this is a KILLER live recording, too. Going right into the Best Of The Year List for me.

Over the years the Leif de Leeuw Band has built a reputation for themselves as one of the most exciting live acts on blues- and rock stages across Europe. They rocked local venues as well as big festivals (like Hungarian Sziget Fest ).
On “Live in Concert” we hear originals that appeared on the band’s studio releases as well as some of the band’s favorit covers like Hendrix’ Little Wing or Whipping Post from the Allman Brothers Band.
As Leif de Leeuw says: “ I think we hit the right tone playing these songs live. A lot of raw grooving energy with wild improvised solos. It’s like you were present when we were on stage. An epic experience when you turn up the volume. We realty captured that real live-sound on this album”.
In the Leif de Leeuw Band, the singer/guitarist is joined by Sem Jansen (guitar, vocals), Tim Koning (drums) and Boris Oud (bass). A very talented combination: Quality with a capital letter Q!

De afgelopen jaren heeft de Leif de Leeuw band een flinke live reputatie opgebouwd en behoort inmiddels tot de top van de Nederlandse muziekscène. De band speelde in clubs en op festivals in twaalf verschillende Europese landen, waaronder op het gerenommeerde Sziget festival in Hongarije.
Op dit Live-Album staat eigen materiaal van de afgelopen drie cd’s die de band heeft uitgebracht en een aantal favoriete uitvoeringen van covers zoals Little Wing van Jimi Hendrix en Whipping Post van The Allman Brothers band. ”En dat alles met een lekkere rauwe swingende live energie met smerige geïmproviseerde solo’s. Volgens mij zijn we erin geslaagd om een plaat te maken waarbij je het gevoel hebt dat je in de zaal staat, aldus Leif.
