Bijna vier jaar na het debuutalbum ontvouwt Aidan’s Well, met de altijd lastige tweede, helder zijn toekomstplannen. De muziek is nog altijd stevig geworteld in de singer-songwriter traditie en nog steeds ‘zingt Veenstra de sterren van de hemel’ (8weekly). Echter het songmateriaal heeft meer pop-feel gekregen, terwijl de productie ‘puur en ongezoet’ is benaderd. Dat maakt dat ‘Unfold’ klinkt als een echt en hecht band-album. Opnieuw nodigde de band bijzondere gastspelers uit, waaronder vaste ‘live’ waarde, popcellist Jurriaan Westerveld. Met een vierstemmig cello-orkest op titelsong ‘Unfold’ en bezwerende klanken van trompettist Jan Wessels in ‘Don’t say you will’ zet Aidan’s Well een fraaie, in herfsttinten gedoopte handtekening onder het album
