After 25 years “on the road”, many collaborations with American Blues artists and three CDs as a bandleader, Kai Strauss is a well established name among European blues lovers. Strauss, who has an excellent reputation for his spicy Texas Blues guitar licks, has been adding classic Chicago flavoring to his musical gumbo lately and Chicago Blues icon Alligator Records founder Bruce Iglauer describes his playing as “excellent, with a lot of maturity and emotions.”.
With the release of The Blues Is Handmade the Dutch label Continental Blue Heaven presents an exclusive Vinyl only “Best Of” collection taken from Kai Strauss’ first three albums. Strauss leaves comfortable space for guest appearances by Mike Wheeler, Darrell Nulisch, Sugar Ray Norcia, Big Daddy Wilson and may other US greats, but always takes his fair share of intense guitar playing and honest, confident vocals.
Instead of following current musical trends, on this lavishly produced record the three times German Blues Awards winner offers timeless Blues performed at an international level.
Remixed and remastered by Martin Meinschaefer, this 180g vinyl album comes over very dynamic and warm sounding – a treat for audiophiles and fans of handmade music. The first run is a limited edition of 500 copies and includes a digital download code plus a signature guitar pick.
