“Never a Dull Moment”: I guess if that statement would apply to one, and only one, performer, that artist would have to be Pokey LaFarge. Backed by his fabulous companions The South City Three, Pokey never fails to perform his, mostly original, songs with such enthusiasm that the audience cannot do anything else but become part of the show.
Which is exactly what also happened that sweaty Friday evening at the legendary Amsterdam venue: Paradiso. Despite just dropping in from a 3 hour radio show that afternoon and the fact that the band would have to rush out after the show to be on time for another, late night, radio session the band really gave it their all.
And hearing this Live in Holland album, it will be hard not to recognize that there was an immediate and overwhelming interaction between what happened on stage and the response of the crowd.
So here you have some of Pokey’s favorite songs in a setting that seems to suit him, the band and his songs just fine.
