Americana! Een naam die de veelzijdigheid aangeeft van Amerikaans georienteerde muziek als folk, singer/songwriters, bluegrass en (alt)country. En even veelzijdig als de muziek zijn ook de Amerikaanse landschappen of leefgemeenschappen die de muzikanten insipreren en zo de muziek ook geografisch kleuren. Denk aan Tennessee, Texas en Mississippi, maar zeker ook Oklahoma.
Op 10 september hebben we tijdens Take Root Festival kunnen kennismaken met een mooie delegatie Okie-muzikanten uit de Red Dirt state. En speciaal voor AmericA -lezers is een eerste staalkaart samengesteld met topmuziek van topmzikanten uit Oklahoma, de staat van onder meer JJ Cale, Woody Guthrie en Merle Haggard.
