Jennie Lowe Stearns' ‘Blurry Edges’ is the follow up to her internationally acclaimed albums ‘Sing Desire' and ‘Bird’s Fall.' She recruited her band ‘the fire
choir’ and created an organic sound where each member brings their own intuitive layers that weave through and bring a distinctive sound to each song.
She ventured just two blocks from her home in upstate N.Y. and recorded in the world renowned Pyramid Studios with Alex Perealis at the engineering helm and produced the album her self with help from her longtime band member and keyboard genius Michael Stark. She also painted the cover art work while listening to the rough mixes.
It has been four years since her last release. The fire choir has created a gorgeous bed of music that has evoked Jennie to deliver some surprising and stunning results. Michael Stark plays grand piano on numerous
tracks, as well as the Rhodes and Hammond organ, and Joe Novelli provides a haunting allure with his lap guitar (made by his uncle).
This is the first album where Jennie uses her own band on every song. Emily Arin, a brilliant song writer in her own right, joined the band a couple of years ago and brings her unique and plaintive vocals to a few of the songs. Brian Dezoretz also assisted in engineering the album, and plays stand up and electric bass. Matt Sacucci Morano brings a subtle and sometimes eerie sound with the drums but proves to master the opposite somewhat surprising results on the title track ‘Blurry Edges'.
